Financial Analyst

Salary: $77,000–$92,400
Location: Culver City, CA (Onsite)
Reports To: Controller

NOW CFO is conducting a private search on behalf of a growing organization in the healthcare/recovery services sector. We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is critical in providing financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational efficiency.

About the Role

The Financial Analyst will analyze financial statements, perform forecasting of revenue and expenditures, and assist executive leadership with strategic planning and budgeting. The analyst will identify variances between forecasts and actuals, research their causes, and propose actionable solutions to optimize performance. Prior experience in the healthcare or healthcare/recovery services industry is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
  • Analyze financial data and create models to support executive decision-making.
  • Prepare reports on financial performance for leadership reviews.
  • Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and recommend process or performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Decision Support teams for accurate financial reporting.
  • Evaluate financial performance against plans and forecasts.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including standard and ad hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation by creating forecasts and models.
  • Research and explain variances between forecasts and actuals; propose solutions.
  • Prepare entity financials quarterly or upon request.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting forms and standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks Pro, Excel, Word, and data query tools (e.g., Access).
  • Manage special projects and coordinate with leadership on progress updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct in all interactions.
  • Contribute to team efforts, assist co-workers, and foster positive workplace relationships.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the healthcare or healthcare/recovery services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience (MBA preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in business finance or quantitative analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, and professionalism while working independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with QuickBooks Pro and data management tools like Access.
  • Advanced financial modeling or forecasting experience.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of supplies/equipment.
  • Occasional irregular hours and pressure due to multiple inquiries.
  • Work safely in a fast-paced environment while following organizational protocols.
