Construction Accounting Manager – Fort Worth, TX (On-Site)


Reports To: Owner/Controller
Industry: Professional Services / Surveying & Engineering


About the Role:

Our client is seeking a hands-on Construction industry Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all accounting operations. This individual will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while supporting business growth. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Worth, TX.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of project accounting and forecasting

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and financial reporting

  • Ensure accuracy of AP (vendor/subcontractor payments) and AR

  • Process and manage payroll (including prevailing wage)

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities

  • Prepare income tax and sales tax (TX) filings

  • Oversee client interaction, billing, and collections

  • Maintain depreciation schedules and support asset management

  • Track vehicle, equipment, and amortization schedules


Must-Haves:

  • Experience with Deltek ERP

  • Knowledge of Texas sales tax

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables)

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and operations

  • Willingness and ability to grow with the company


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Industry experience in professional services or surveying & engineering

  • Familiarity with civil municipal accounting and invoicing structures


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $90,000–$100,000

  • Bonus eligibility

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance (100% employer-paid)

  • 401(k): 3% match
